ITIN Procedures from Catholic Charities Here are procedures to follow at your tax site when helping taxpayers who will be, or are in the process of submitting an ITIN application for themselves, their spouse, or any dependent.
Helping Taxpayers with ITIN Numbers
Some taxpayers do not have Social Security Numbers and use an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number to file their tax returns. Many of these taxpayers are immigrants. This video gives you a short introduction to the issues involved with helping taxpayers who have ITIN numbers! If your taxpayer is filing a Sch. C and lives in an area with Tri-Met Service in Multnomah, Washington, or Clackamas counties, they may be subject to Tri-Met Tax. If they live in Portland, they may be subject to the City's business tax.
